To measure for a sling chair replacement, use a flexible measuring tape to record the width between the inside edges of the chair’s sling rails at both the top and bottom to determine how wide it needs to be. Next, measure the length from the top of the sling rail down to the bottom, following the curve of the chair. A flexible, cloth, measuring tape is required so that it can be dropped just as the sling would be. Measuring straight down from the top to the bottom will get you a flat tight sling without any seat portion to sit in. Another option is to use a large towel and place it in the chair to mimic how the sling should be. Mark where it is on the top of the frame and the bottom of the frame. Remove the towel and measure the distance between the two marks. Accurate measurements ensure a proper fit for the replacement sling.
