There is no "standard" back loop size for director's chairs. A typical, but definitely not all, director's chair has a back post that is roughly 1 inch in diameter. For a chair with a round post that is this size, the recommended back loop measurement is 2.5 inches. This gives enough room in that pocket to easily slide the back post through without having to struggle.
