The seat loop is the pocket that the sticks of the director chair covers slide through to attach the seat to the frame. To determine this measurement, remove the seat from the chair and lay it out flat. Measure from one edge to the very first stitch line that you come to, for the full width of that pocket. The width of the seat loop is custom, but in a typical director's chair it is rather small, usually 1" or less. It can be larger if larger sticks or tubing are used to attach it to the chair frame.
